David Prueter is an associate at Wentsler LLC. His practice includes preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the mechanical, electro-mechanical, and glass manufacturing arts to secure both domestic and foreign patent protection. Prior to joining the practice of law, David worked as a Design Engineer for the Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Operations Group. As an engineer, he focused on the design and analysis of manufactured nuclear components for defense related purposes.
David’s domestic patent practice includes preparing original patent applications for filing in the United States Patent and Trademark Office and prosecuting patent applications by responding to office actions from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He also has experience drafting patent applications to be filed in various foreign jurisdictions including Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, and countries of Europe.
David routinely searches the records of the United States Patent and Trademark Office when conducting patentability and state of the art investigations. He also advises clients regarding the patentability of inventions and potential infringement concerns.
David’s foreign patent practice includes communicating with foreign legal counsel and responding to office actions from the Japan Patent Office, the Korean Intellectual Property Office, the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China, the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office, and the European Patent Office.
David is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association (CIPLA).
